Each summer, Mancelona Chamber of Commerce hosts several music concerts for all to come and enjoy, at no cost to them. It's an opportunity to go out, have a night on the town without having to dip into your pockets, sit back and relax, visit with friends and neighbors, and just enjoy some good music.
All concerts are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. downtown Mancelona in the street on North Maple, between State Street and M-88 Highway in the area known as Triangle Park (where the clock is). Bring lawn chairs and blankets, whatever you are most comfortable with. In case of rain, concerts are moved across the highway to the Farmers Market pavilion located next to the Buck Pole on the east side of U.S. 131 by the traffic light, in Railroad Park.

Tuesday, July 11 - Kenny Thompson. "I am interested in making people dance, smile, tap their toes, snap fingers, sing out loud and have fun," says Kenny. He does all that, and more, with his singing and guitar-strummin' talent.
Tuesday, July 25 - Billy Craig. Detroit-based singer/songwriter Billy Craig joins us for the first time in Mancelona. Billy is spreading like wildfire among country fans. His sizzlin' hot, new CD is breaking through the radio airwaves here in the US and across Europe. Billy continues to gain notorieety through mainstream media with Carrie Underwood News, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, The Today Show, WSM in Nashville and many other radio shows around the country. Billy has a flair all of his own. Come meet him in Mancelona, July 25!
Tuesday, August 8 - Rawhide. Rawhide is a 6 member band playing a wide vareity of music ranging from classic rock to country.

Rooted is a new business now open in the Village of Mancelona. Rooted features all Michigan made products, including wood working, jewelry, candles, jams and jellies, maple syrup, apparel, seasonings and spices, and more. Also offering Ashby's hand-dipped ice cream.
Rooted is currently open 7 days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Located on US 131 next door to Iron Skillet Restaurant (south of the traffic light).

RESIDENTS OF MANCELONA TOWNSHIP
The Township of Mancelona, Antrim County, will hold a “cleanup day” on the above stated date from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. A contractor will provide trash trucks at Palmer Park. Residents may bring one pickup truck or utility trailer load per household.
Proof of residency in the form of voter registration card, latest property tax notice, or current electric bill is required. Items brought from any place other than the resident’s location will
result in a penalty fee and possible loss of privileges in future cleanups.
household rubbish, building materials (nothing over six feet), household furniture (including chairs, couches, mattresses), appliances including refrigerators, which are tagged “Freon free”, scrap metal.
The following items will be accepted at the owner’s expense:
Car tires at $5.00 per tire.
Liquids including paint, motor oil and antifreeze; yard wastes, leaves and brush; chemical or other hazardous wastes; flammables and explosives; broken glass; broken concrete; dangerous items such as gasoline or hot ashes.
ITEMS MUST NOT BE BROUGHT TO THE CLEANUP SITE PRIOR TO 7:00 a.m. on clean-up day.

Notice from Village of Mancelona regarding 2017 Curbside Brush Pick-Up:
VILLAGE OF MANCELONA RESIDENTS
The Village of Mancelona will do curbside brush pick-up every Tuesday. The Village has been divided into areas:
Area 1: West of North Maple and North and South of West State Street
Area 2: South of East State Street and East of US 131
Area 3: North of East State Street and East of US 131
Area 4: West of US 131 and East of North Maple
1. All brush must meet the following requirements:
a. NO longer than 6 feet in length
b. NO larger than 6 inches in diameter
c. NO logs or stumps
d. NO leaves or grass clippings
2. Limit of ONE 4ft X 4ft pile per residence per weekly area pick up.
Area 1: first Tuesday of each month (4/4, 5/2, 6/6, 7/5*, 8/1, 9/5, 10/3)
Area 2: second Tuesday of each month (4/11, 5/9, 6/13, 7/11, 8/8, 9/12, 10/10)
Area 3: third Tuesday of each month (4/18, 5/16, 6/20, 7/18, 8/15, 9/19, 10/17)
Area 4: fourth Tuesday of each month (4/25, 5/23, 6/27, 7/25, 8/22, 9/26, 10/24)
***If there is a fifth Tuesday in the month, there will be NO pick up. (5/30 and 8/31)***
Any brush not picked up by the Village Crew due to non-compliance of the rules must be cleared away within 7 days.
