Any time of year, anyone may purchase Chamber Bucks to gift to friends and family. Chamber Bucks
are gift certificates redeemable at any participating Mancelona Chamber of Commerce member location. They are available at Mancelona Chamber of Commerce, and typically in denominations of $25 each.
In 2020, Consumers Energy saw the hardships caused to small businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and wanted to do something about it. Consumers Energy selected several communities in Michigan, including Mancelona, and offered Our Town matching dollars. By providing matching dollars, this allowed us to sell Chamber Bucks on a two-for-one basis. Purchase $25 in Chamber Bucks, and receive $50 worth. Quantities were limited and, as expected, sold out within hours. Seeing the impact that Our Town had, Consumers Energy repeated the program one more year, in December 2021.
The popularity of the two-for-one bucks had our phones ringing all throughout 2022, but the program had ended. As the 2023 holiday season approached we had more calls and requests for two-for-one bucks.
As much as we would like to offer these on a regular basis, someone has to up-front the match dollars.
We are excited and grateful of the generosity of several businesses that partnered with Mancelona Chamber of Commerce to make this happen once again!
Together, 4Front Credit Union, Alden State Bank, Integrity Concrete Coating, Jailhouse Cannabis, Tri-Gas, Vermeer Midwest and Mancelona Chamber of Commerce contributed to a two-for-one fund to offer these special promotion Chamber Bucks.
These popular promo bucks are rare and sell out fast - usually within a day. We're limiting sales to two per household to give more families an opportunity to enjoy the savings.
Two-for-one Chamber Bucks will go on sale beginning Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at the Chamber of Commerce desk inside Moore Plumbing and Heating on West Limits Road in Mancelona (between Gill Roys Hardware and the Elementary School). They will be sold for $25 each (spend $25, receive $50). Cash sales only. When they are gone, they are gone.
NOTE: Chamber Bucks have an expiration date of July 30, 2024 so they can also be redeemed at our seasonal businesses when they re-open in spring. Chamber Bucks are single-use certificates good toward products and/or services at our participating member locations; not redeemable for cash/cash back. See list of participating members, here. Some exclusions, such as tax, tip, lottery, alcohol and tobacco, may apply. Consider using your Chamber Bucks to purchase in-store gift cards that can be used in multiple visits, without expiration.
Due to the limited number available, please respect the two per household limit. No early sales, and we regret we cannot hold/reserve, or accommodate requests for purchasing extras for a friend/family who is unable to personally get their own.
When organizations in the community need sponsorship dollars for an event or special cause, we run first to our businesses in hopes of receiving a donation - and they are always eager to contribute. Chamber Bucks have a very positive impact on our members and are a great way to give something back to them.
